Gemma Orkin, majored in printmaking at UCT’s Michaelis School of Fine Art, ultimately becoming drawn to ceramics because of “the surprise factor.
Gemma has been a ceramic artist for 25 years, honing her skills and growing her business by never refusing an order. On turquoise, white or pink backgrounds, each
piece perches a hand-painted bird, flower or animal. They’re perfect for summer entertainment scenarios, bringing nature onto your dining table in a fresh and
unexpected way – your guests may only spot the bird once they’ve finished their meal.
